I’m a complete bar snob and this is the only place I’ll go! The place is always decked out for whatever holiday/occasion is going on. The bathrooms are always CLEAN. The owners are the friendliest people you’ll ever meet! They have all kinds of fun merch. They also have fun events like dressing up for Halloween/ and Christmas parties! Prices are good and the snacks are top notch!! Definitely give it a try!! You won’t be disappointed!

This place is so much fun. Underground bar with lots of history. Terrific drink specials. The bartenders are off the hook. Super friendly. Right in the historic square. PROTIP: parking lot located behind the building.

W Down Under (said with perfect Australian accent for effect), is the perfect mix of happy-go-lucky patrons, friendly staff, and actual rustic bricks. Nestled a floor below the street, W Down Under lives up (or perhaps "down") to its namesake.

The staff do an excellent job of tending to customers, while also keeping the place dressed for the occasion. They routinely change the motif to reflect the holidays, and that's just enough to keep you coming back for more.

The beer is cold, the atmosphere is warm, and the experience is worth your while at any time of the year. Just don't get caught playing "Who Am I?" with Bridget von Hammersmark.

A great local bar…Washington’s own “Cheers” where you run into friends and neighbors. Would love to see the space extend a bit with more seating…such a fun spot that everyone wants to be there! Get a giant soft pretzel with the yummy sauces! It’s a bar that is willing to please all its patrons. Have had a great time every night we’ve been there!

A perfect spot to meet up with friends for the night! The espresso martini is the BEST in town and is even made with local cold brew from Faire Coffee upstairs! So many other specialty drinks and martinis, along with a huge variety of beer and seltzers. If you haven’t tried Zio’s (Clinton) or Butch’s (Morton) pizza, do it!! Can’t go wrong with any of the flavors. And the popcorn they carry from Hollands on the Square - the perfect bar snack. Just really appreciate a clean, upscale bar with quality owners who support other local businesses. Would give 10 stars if I could ?

Loved the chocolate martini, espresso martini, crab dip & zios pizza!!! “This must be the place” neon sign when you come downstairs is a great photo op! I love W Down Under, the bartenders are great, owners are so friendly, and atmosphere is perfect for a night out with friends or family.

This is a fun place! Great people run this, very friendly. I've met so many great servers here. They personalize the experience and make home made snacks! The Zios pizzas are delicious too!
