Have used Johnston's for several years..they installed my heating system. This week my heating has been boiling!! Water like it's come straight from a kettle!! Johnston's said they were too busy to come out and suggested I turn the water heater off...did this but the water continues to boil!!! I rang again but was told too busy to come out.... Johnston's then suggested I find someone else ....Nice hey! Won't use them again...

Placed an order to fit a pump. Told it would be “next week”. Called to request a date. Told the “fitter is on holiday”. Called again a week later. Told fitter “off sick” and “we will call with a new date”. 4 weeks later we got a call to ask why we hadn’t called. Absolutely useless customer service.

Had a small job carried out.The technican who carried out the work was very good.
I had phoned and booked the job in advance and went through the details and prices with the chap over the phone,he gave me the hourly rate and the mileage payable to the job,and confirmed this was what I would pay as well as any parts required.He couldn't confirm how long it would take as he hadn't seen the job nor knew exactly what it would involve ,this would be down to the technical details on site.i would then be e mailed the bill.
The engineer turned up promptly carried out the work in just under an hour,he and his assistant were very good,knowledgeable and tidy workers.
I then recieved the bill by post not e mail ,which appears to be considerably higher than the travel amount and hourly rate described to me.
I queried this and was informed that you pay for the time preparing for the job ! Essentially I was charged travel time as well as mileage which doubled the hour spent on the job.
I do not know if this is an industry standard or not ,but it is certainly NOT what was explained at the time of the booking being made.This was very dissapointing and not at all as I had been explained how things would work.
This was my first time using the company and it is somewhat soured by their poor communication and lack of clarity on pricing.
I know this was only a small job and i am very greatful to have had it done ,but it has also been a shame the company let themselves down so badly .
Good job ,poor administration, didn't build much customer confidence in my experience .
I wouldn't have minded the larger bill if it had been clearly explained but it simply wasn't. A shame really.

Asked for a quote twice by email twice by phone
Promised a return call by Ben which never happened.
“He’s very busy” I’ve done what I can” “I’ve told him“ is the reply’s you get.
If you’re busy or can’t deal with a customers enquiry tell them so.
Other professional companies have replied straight away saying can’t fit you in for a few months.
Clearly this company is poorly managed or the boss just can’t be bothered.
I was warned I wouldn’t get a response and they were correct…
Shocking service not sure how they rate at 5 stars ⭐️
I’ve taken my business to a professional plumber.
