To describe Montika and her staff would be like trying to describe angels. I went to Montika for my infant son who had a lip and tongue tie which was causing us so many issues. Not only did she help my son, but she helped ME. Her wealth of knowledge, the herbal supplements she makes in house and opening up a world to me about oral restrictions that I didn’t know existed. My baby boy is in the best hands for body work leading up to and after his lip and tongue tie release. It just feels so much more than that though, she really has given us incredible care and referred us to incredible providers to take our health to the next level.

I don’t typically like to write reviews for companies or people, unless I’ve been provided with exceptional care. Montika has gone beyond exceptional care. I truly don’t have the words to describe how much she has helped me and my children. With my youngest, my husband and I didn’t want to get his ties revised. Montika did everything she could to help him latch and gain weight. She helped me with my supply, my emotions, mastitis, and listened to me and gave me sound advice repeatedly. My son started to lose weight even though we were doing everything we could to help him gain (pumping, supplementing with breastmilk through a device because he wouldn’t take a bottle, multiple visits a week, herbs for my supply and for his sensitivities, etc.) My husband and I thought about the situation and we decided to get his ties revised. Montika provided us with all the information and support we needed. We were able to weigh the pros and cons to make the best decision for our family. She even gave me peer reviewed articles when I asked. We truly felt respected and supported in EVERY single decision. I am so thankful for her. She has been an extreme blessing to my family and I’m thankful to have her on this journey with me.

I'm a BFAR mama, and I needed someone who understood the challenges of breastfeeding after resuction/breast surgery. Montika listened to what my goals were: 1) as much breastmilk into my baby as possible 2) for as long as possible 3) at the breast if possible. She helped me come up with the best course of action including adding supplements and herbs to help my supply be the best it could be while also healing my gut. She suggested the best pump for me to get the most output, and she helped me learn to use my lactaid SNS to feed at the breast. She also recognized my son's ties were likely contributing to a poor latch and did his bodywork in preparation for his release. How do I even begin to thank Montika for all she has done to help me with my breast-feeding journey as well as my postpartum health! I can honestly say I have no idea how I would have handled all the trials we faced after my daughter was born without her! Story was born unable to latch, which resulted in low blood sugar which then sent us to the NICU where a feeding tube was placed. We saw the hospitals Lactation consultants and physical therapists. None of them were able to tell me why my daughter was unable to latch onto the breast or bottle. My midwife was able to confirm my suspicions of a posterior tongue and lip tie. By 12 days old I had her mouth laser revised and was positive she would be able to breastfeed. Unfortunately, that was not the case. I called Montika and we saw her that week. I didn’t know the importance of body work. I should have started body work with her right away and when she deemed her ready, we would revise her mouth. She is trained in oral restrictions and management so she knew all the techniques needed to loosen the muscles in her mouth. Because I skipped that step the first time Story’s mouth was nowhere near lose enough to be fully revised. During this time, I was exclusively pumping, I was struggling with my milk supply due to lack of stimulation and my PCOS. Montika was able to get me donor milk to use for my girl as well as handmake me a custom blend of herbs to help with my supply and help with my postpartum emotions. 12 weeks after my daughter was born, she was able to fully latch and feed from the breast. I know I was able to keep pushing through because of Montika. Every time I felt overwhelmed, she was there to calm me down. She is so much more than a nurse and IBCLC. Because of her training in herbalism, extra training in oral restrictions as well as coaching on positioning and latching my baby girl is nursing like a pro with no end in sight. I wish there was a 6th star I could add to my review because 5 stars doesn’t even justify how I feel about Total Family Wellness.
I will start by saying that Montika saved a breastfeeding relationship that I know would’ve failed without her help! When my son was born, he couldn’t latch, couldn’t get milk out of my breasts well, couldn’t gain weight, and I was blistered and in sooo much pain from his poor latch by day 3 of my son’s life. Montika diagnosed tongue and lip tie instantly and kept working with me on getting my son to latch well until we had our revision and wayyy past that also. I would cry from the pain and frustration from not being able to nurse my son but Montika would not let me even consider giving up! She also gave me so many natural solutions to help my son with gas, spitting up, colic, and teething pain when not even medicine would touch the issue!
Montika inspired me to keep breastfeeding and gave me so much knowledge on how to get myself and my son started on a healthy road in life. I promise you, I would not be the mom I am today without Montika. Montika invests into your family and does not give up on you!
I will add also that I never brought up teething pain my son had until he was 27 months old. I had been dealing with my son screaming from teething pain almost every night since he was 2 months old. I tried every natural treatment and even Motrin only sometimes worked. After only 1 dose of Montika’s homeopathic remedy my son was acting better than he usually does at bedtime with his teething pain. He went to sleep a totally different toddler last night. He was my usual sweet boy who wasn’t screaming from teething pain.
Oh! I will also add that Montika did mouth and body work on my son to help him be more comfortable, to latch better, to be less colicky, and to make sure our tongue and lip tie revision did not grow back inappropriately. I’m sure I’m missing things because Montika helped with so much!! You will NOT regret seeing her!

As a mom of two, I’ve learned it takes a village to raise a child. Part of my village has been having the consult and support of a Holistic lactation consultant who provided in home services for both of my children.

How do I love Montika? Let me count the ways...? I’ve been so happy with the services I’ve received so far from her.
